This week the General Medical Council published the results of its 2022 National Training Survey. Alex Phillips, Surgical Director of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers, commented, “The results from the national training survey are disappointing but not unexpected. Part of this is a result of the increased pressures on those involved in training. It is pleasing to see that the huge majority (90%) enjoy their roles as trainers but ever increasingly this is not recognised as part of their day-to-day work. If the trainee experience is to improve, then trainers must be given the time required to provide quality training.”
The full results of the survey can be found here.
