Faculty Advisory Board Vacancies Open for Applications

The Faculty of Surgical Trainers is currently seeking to appoint two Associates, two Members and two Fellows to the newly-formed Faculty Advisory Board.

The duties of the Faculty Advisory Board are:

• Advising the FST on professional matters pertaining to surgical education and training.
• Advising on the development of standards and processes for membership of the FST.
• Advising on the strategy and policies of the FST.
• Advising on the development of courses and other educational activities, including endorsements.
• Providing or guiding the sourcing of expert opinion and advice, when required, on matters related to surgical education and training.
• To assist in the planning of FST meetings and events, including the annual meeting.
• To advise on the steps the FST can take to encourage innovation, research and improvement in the field of surgical education and training.

The FST Faculty Advisory Board will meet twice per year and a nominated individual will generally sit on the Board for a period of up to three years.

The first meeting of the Advisory Board will be held in the College in Edinburgh on 20 September 2018 at 1:30 pm.
