The FST has published its strategic plan for the next five years, setting out our vision for the Faculty and all that we wish to achieve by 2021.
Central to the plan is to continue to champion the role of the surgical trainer and enhance the quality of training. But the Faculty has also set itself goals for research and innovation and to increase its profile as leading voice in the debate on education and training.
Surgical Director of the FST, Mr Craig McIlhenny, said: "The plan has been developed to enable us to deliver the Faculty’s core purpose – supporting surgical trainers to deliver excellent training – and to further our ambition to develop the Faculty into the leading authority on all matters relating to surgical trainers.
“We have come a long way from our inception, but we still have ambition for development, expansion and improvement. Implementation of the concepts and activities included in this plan can only happen with continued support of our membership, as it is this support that will empower the Faculty to deliver its goals in the future."
Due to essential systems maintenance and upgrades there will be interruptions to some on-line services on Saturday 19th of August.
