The Faculty of Surgical Trainers is to join forces with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Academy of Surgical Educators (ASE) to deliver a forum on Monday 4 May 2015 at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Perth, Western Australia.
The event, which is part of the 2015 RACS Congress, will include discussion of standards for trainers, competency-based training, and SET evaluations.
FST Director Craig McIllhenny said: “This event marks the first joint event between the FST and an international partner and will be an important part of the RACS congress. We know there is growing recognition in many countries of the importance of ensuring competency in the delivery of training and the challenges being addressed by the FST are not unique to the UK. So we look forward to meeting our Australian colleagues to share experiences and best practise regarding this important topic.”
