Vacancy for the Role of Chair of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers

The Faculty of Surgical Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh was created to promote and enhance the role of the surgical trainer. The Faculty is the first of its kind in the UK and are here to support and develop surgeons in their role as surgical trainers. The Faculty aims to increase the profile and recognition of surgical education and training and disseminate the message that excellent surgical training means excellent and safe patient care.

The Faculty has a diverse and growing membership spanning over 30 countries and is please to collaborate with a range of partners to drive innovation and recognise excellence in surgical training.

The Faculty is excited to open applications for the position of Chair. We are committed to recruiting an individual who is most suited to the post based solely on the applicant's abilities, qualifications, experience and merit as measured against the role description and person specification.

The Chair role is open to current Members and Fellows of the Faculty in good standing who if based in the UK, are a GMC-recognised trainer. There is no requirement to have previously served on the Executive Committee.
