The deadline for the submission of abstracts for the Faculty of Surgical Trainers conference has been extended by one week and will now close at 5pm on Friday 11 September.
This year's meeting takes place on 22 October at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham, and is open to all with an interest in surgical training. The meeting will focus on giving delegates ‘take home’ ideas and tips for becoming better trainers and provide six hours of CPD.
The programme boasts an outstanding line-up of speakers with a wealth of experience across training and education. Among those offering unique insights will be two previous winners of the Silver Scalpel (Mr Mike Lavelle-Jones and Mr Gavin Pettigrew) and Dr Teodor Grantcharov, who has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles on the topic. There will also be sessions addressing current controversies and challenges in training, including the Shape of Training review and GMC recognition of trainers.
Prizes will be awarded for the best oral and poster presentations with certificates of attendance on the day of the meeting to the main author/presenter.
